Modernized IZEM, a high-performance CFD solver for compressible reactive multi-species flows, migrating a legacy Fortran codebase to modern C++. Designed a modular architecture using RAII, smart pointers, and OOP. Developed performance-critical components with OpenMP for multi-core HPC systems. Integrated Cantera (thermodynamics & chemical kinetics) and HDF5 (scalable I/O). Refactored core scientific modules and built a modern CMake build system. Validated numerical accuracy against the original Fortran implementation. Benchmarked large-scale simulations on the Toubkal HPC supercomputer.
